As an artist, I have always had an interest in the human body and the stories they tell. Behind every feature that defines our individuality as people: tattoos, scars, piercings, wrinkles etc., is a story to be told and a lesson to be learned. The fragmented form of the body in relation to its placement in space is something that I learned to be more and more aware of. The cohesion of forms and placement and how efficient they are in the purpose of conveying a story is a skill I wish to acquire.
My move to Melbourne to study full time was monumental for me and my art practice. The diversity of people here is fascinating. Being around people from all different fields, age groups, ethnicities and cultures has enriched my soul first and my art second.
I thrive from gathering knowledge and experience from the hundreds of stories that were generously shared with me. By actualising this in a sculptural form, I tell the story of growth and its tight bond to genuine human connection
