I have been trapped in my home since 2020 and using photography as a form of self-expression and 'medication'. I have taken a series of quiet and depressing photographs that express my inner world and mental anguish during this period. Constantly trying through photography to find a way out; constantly looking for the possibility of escaping from this depression, being at home alone, facing despair and feeling exhausted. Struggling for the light in the darkness. Yearning for freedom, to take off the mask and breath freely, yearning to travel around the world. The cool colours in this series of photographs express my feelings of depression and loneliness. I hope that the pandemic will end soon and that freedom will be regained.
