Convenient amnesia transforms and reconfigures sentimental archives of my fashion photography through use of multiple digital applications, experimental variations, typography, scanning and manipulation. My project pushes photographs to the extremes. Bringing the digital data to edge, to the surface, and thus pushing limits of what is discernible – the content or its technologies.

I discover my subconscious rising to meet the surface of their skin. I notice aspects changing that I was unaware of at the time of capture. Outward-facing projections of beauty meet inner structures and silhouettes, nervous messages and memories that feed our personal narratives.

Through post-production, I found I was able control and manipulate the imagery, digging deeper to explore an inner vulnerability. Creating unanticipated textures and new surfaces that emerge through the mediated processes.

Convenient amnesia is a narrative of deconstruction through exploratory and experimental approaches. By revisiting fashion archives, a new awareness of surface reflections, of short-lived relationships that continue to transform, interfere, fade and restrict through technologies.

Fashion stops short at the skin. I keep digging.
