What is Melbourne to you? Most international students think of churches, train stations, markets, flowers, coffee... things that we have never touched in our lives before but that seep into our lives when we come to Melbourne and which eventually become precious and ordinary memories from our time abroad. This project is a record of this student's memories of her time in Melbourne as she leaves the city. But the good old lazy days are not all that is remembered. This is only part of what we show to our families. Since 2020 we have experienced six lockdowns, from the panic of the first to the calm of the sixth, spending more time in our flats, moving from shared accommodation to living alone and learning to enjoy solitude. At the end of these memories I think that, for international students at this particular time, studying abroad did not only give us a different way of life: lazy and beautiful, leisurely and free. We learned to live with ourselves and enjoy solitude during the long closure of the city. Whichever experiences we have had, it has left a valuable legacy on the road to growth, supporting us as we stride forward into the sunshine of our future lives. So, what is Melbourne to you?
