Altered

Altered is a series of works that convey a futuristic aesthetic through a combination of fashion portraiture and 3-D art. I present my reflections on futuristic aesthetics through digital photography and post-production. This is inspired by my thoughts on the future of fashion photography's visual presentation. In today's social media, AI technology and 3-D modelling are becoming the visual mainstream of  fashion's presentation, and the science fiction elements in 3-D art show the interaction between humans, technology, illusion and emotion. I am wondering about how humans will live in the future, how to co-exist with technology and how people's expectations of fashion are changing. Especially under the influence of the current pandemic. And one of the themes of my thinking is speculating about the universe and unknown creatures. The more complex our circumstances are, the more curiosity and fantasy about the unknown future will arise. Through the use of colours and props, this series of works expresses an avant-garde in fashion that thrives under confinement. Due to the limitations and restrictions from COVID -19, I decided to create this series of fashion portraits leaning towards futuristic art and CGI; I will alter the images with 3-D elements in collaboration with my friend Ken who is interested in working in 3-D art and CGI.
