Infinite Loading
Infinite Loading (2021) is a poetic photography project conceived at the end of 2020. It explores the burden of being overwhelmed by information overload in the current digital age and the attempt to reconcile this increasing ‘noise’ together with our own personal experience. The project uses an emotional montage and splicing approach to object photography, in a third-point perspective, drawn from personal memories and experiences. Infinite Loading comes from the word 'overwhelming' and derives from the feeling of being overloaded. The idea started with my personal experiences; the plethora of useless messages swallowing me in the fast-pace of the information age making it hard to breathe and stay still, like a mindless blind man, unable to make rational decisions and sinking into a sorrowful hole. My work outlines how to use a poetic and emotional approach to photography to explore the concept of Infinite Loading, which is the state of anxiety caused by an excess of information experienced through technology in everyday life. As a photographer, I used a series of still images to explain the feeling of ineffective communication and focused on exploring contemporary photographic values and a visual language methodology for humanity.
