This project is designed to be a bumpy and strange journey, maybe because of curiosity, maybe because there is no other choice. This is our world. It is like a coordinated axis; the vertical axis is time, and the horizontal axis is space. I don't know who was here in the past, and I don't know what the future will hold, I only know where I am standing at this moment. All things have their expiration dates; not only will food expire but all things will expire, and naturally, so will life. Although this expiration exists in forms other than disappearing suddenly, much of this is still unbearable for us. With the sudden pandemic, this cruel reality has made people realise their vulnerability and, at the same time, people began to rethink their relationship with the environment. Perhaps our fate is not as far away as for those species that have disappeared already due to human activity. This project investigates the relationship between humans and their surroundings. Statues, skeletons and extinct animals exist in these images as substitutes for human beings. Chaos, juxtaposition and reorganisation are the main tenets of this group of works. These photographs attempt to achieve an absurd but reasonable balance between the environment and human habitation. Like the eponymous elephant, our own fate rests within our degrees of indifference.
