The Muses of Creativity

I am an artist who works and lives in the Yarra Valley. My sculptural work features figurative interpretations of folkloric and ancient Greek, Roman and Celtic traditions. By interpreting my own imagination, I create ombre sculptures that emulate people’s ingenuity. Texture, hue and balance are important aspects of my stoneware work. The mind and especially the psyche spark my exploration into this conceptual realm of unseeable inventiveness. In my graduate work, The Muses of Creativity, I have sculpted female busts in clay and extruded coils to represent the creativity and influence they bestow upon humans. In my interpretation, the story of the Muses unveils an invisible motion of the creative process: inspiration, imagination and ingenuity.
