I am an emerging visual artist studying and living in Naarm (Melbourne). With a passion for photography and printmaking, my practice explores themes of identity within different social and environmental landscapes. The representation of the naked figure has been the focal point of my work over this last year. Ranging from figurative to abstract, each piece explores the intimate details that make up a subject. These artworks study the line, shape and colour that make up a naked figure through the context of a digital lens. Intrigued by the effect that social media has on our perception of the human body, my work uses digital techniques of photography and screen printing to highlight the separation between the digital representation and physical experience of the body. The close up perspective used repeatedly in my current artwork further abstracts traditional modes of viewing and encourages deeper connection to the naked form. This series of prints employs the female gaze to contribute to the discussion of representation of the body in digital media.
