I am a Melbourne based multi-disciplinary artist living and working on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. My work is inspired by the beauty of the abject and the female body while exploring desire and disgust, form and matter, depth and surface, reality and appearances – a borderline of what it is to be human.
The idea of the abject really speaks to me as I’ve always been drawn to imagery that is haunting or that is strange and unsettling, so I want to try and replicate it within my artwork. The purpose of these artworks for me isn’t just to explore the medium and its possibilities or to create an image that is visually nice to look at but to bring about conversations of the body as a process of change.
