Rot, Beat, Wash is a mixed media artwork that encapsulates sound and collaging and which explores the intense emotions after going through domestic abuse. The words have been collated from archive poems that I wrote during my healing time after the relationship had ended. Written and collaged in a repetitive nature, I wanted to create a sense of story and stamp on the matter. Paired alongside a distorted sound work of loud punching noises the artworks together provoke a sense of anxiety and tension. A creative and emotional response to trauma, the artworks are an exploration of reconciling with the past.
