The true aim of this body of work has emerged from my fascination with modernity and its influence on the perception I have of my work. I believe the oil paintings I have created and presented entail a modern way of perceiving art. My work ranges from cubistic motifs using expressionism as the fusing mould. I created work that references a different time in the world while still engaging with the environment around me, using my partner as a subject to express these notions. I looked into spatial cubism and its influences in these large scale oil paintings.
