Environment One (maybe)
Environment One (maybe) is a large-scale installation that aims to create a sense of the environment. It is inspired by the natural world that I have seen while hiking. I have reduced elements from the environment to basic cuboid forms and built them back up again in a way that reflects the urban environment and the gallery space to create a new, abstract and artistic environment. The cuboid forms are the backbone of this work and have been progressively built and developed throughout this year. I have explored curved and angular forms in this project though the repetition of cubes and more organic curves in paper mache forms and tubing. This reflects a dialogue between the angular shapes of the urban environment and the curved forms of the natural world. Please note that these images are only progress shots of my work.
