As a Greek-immigrant who is an emerging documentary photographer, I take photographs because I can’t ever imagine not. Being born and raised in a small village on an island gave me certain experiences that shaped my childhood. I migrated in 2012, when I was eighteen years old. This shook my understanding of everything, but most importantly the understanding of what home is. In this project I am looking into how I can use memories from my childhood and my adulthood as a way of connecting the two different Me’s – the Me growing up in Greece and the Me becoming an adult in Australia – and the relationships with the people that link these two places.
