My project seeks to investigate rites of passage, liminal spaces and the revelatory potential of place and memory in relation to the search for identity. Using appropriation to challenge traditional definitions of originality I aim to intertwine appropriated imagery with my own to produce new forms that have the capacity to transmute aspects of trauma. I aim to create a universal language based in capitalist notions of branding in the search for new icons that communicate globally.
