Through the use of photography-performance I have made reference to female artists and the importance of their role in performance art. The female nude and the uncanny is used to depict and explore liminal space in my performance art. The liminal space refers to the area between beginning and end, the grey space of movement that is seen in the blurred figures in the photographs. The female figure is regaining agency over the male gaze by asserting dominance in the space. The powerful postures and discipline shown in these photographs, along with the kinetic energy throughout these pieces, creates a cohesion of photography and performance.
