The urban environment offers an abundance of images which are the subject matter for my drawings. In addition to its physical attributes, the city possesses mysterious and hidden layers which form a larger picture of its existence. My sensations of the city are acquired while walking in it. To an extent I am a flâneur, who traditionally strolled without intent, didn’t stay long in any one place and observed with detachment, but additionally I am receptive to the visual stimulation which surrounds me and becomes the inspiration for my drawings. But I am flâneur-like when drawing as my marks are made in a meandering fashion and with diffused attention. I am not committed to any particular space on my paper, I move on quickly, I am passing through. The viewer is invited to follow my wandering.
